Just looked it up too!!! Boris Krloff was the one.  Dr. Suess was told he wold be to scary for the kids, bt he did it anyway.  And it plays every year still, so if you haven't watched it, go look for it.  It is a classic. I watched it last week, just me, no kids!  LOL

Boris Karloff.  Such a Christmas tradition, watched it since I was a small child.  Actually watched it with my kids last night, they refuse to watch the new one with Jim Carrey, only the old cartoon will do!!!!!

And a fun fact - when the Grinch had the change of heart, his pupils changes from red to blue!

It was Boris Karloff... A quick little story.. My family which has 2 3 year olds and one 4 year old were driving in the car on the way to go grocery shopping. The song your a mean one mister grinch came on the radio... I was singing along since it is such a cute song. My 4 year old in the back started to cry. I stopped singing and asked him why was he crying. He responded with great gasps that this song is so scary and the grinch is so mean and he is going to come and take away our Christmas. I quickly assured him that no the Grinch was not going to take away Christmas that it would be okay. He then responded but mommy the song said so. I told him it was just pretend... he answered back well I don't like to pretend!  WE quickly laughed about the song and changed the station. Yesterday at the mall the song came on again and he told me lets get out of here! That song is not nice!

Boris Karloff... I can't remember a Christmas season not watching it, and now that my kids are grown I still do!  "Fah who for-aze, Dah who dor-aze, welcome Christmas, come this way!"  Now I'll have that song in my head ALL day!

Good old Boris.....what a voice!

We love the original Grinch here.

And the Grinch stood puzzling and puzzling, how could it be so? It came without ribbons. It came without tags. It came without packages, boxes or bags. And he puzzled and puzzled 'till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before. What if Christmas, he thought, doesn't come from a store. What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more? ~Dr Seuss

Boris Karloff!  Love it.  My favorite since I was a little girl.  My dad bought me a little stuffed Grinch Christmas tree ornament one year.  Still have it.
